The source for living the best life in Christ
Eph. 3:20-21
Our theme: “living the best life in Christ through obeying God’s word.”
Young people and not-so-young people may say, I hear you, but obeying everything God says is not easy.
The world we live in makes it hard!
The body we live in makes it hard!
The enemy of all of mankind makes it hard!
Growing up as a little boy, we didn’t get explanation or reasons why to obey. Parents would simply say, because I said so.
I am a witness it is extremely hard to obey everything God command us on our own.
Peer pressure is real, the lure of the world is strong, and the flesh has a strong hold onto all of us.
But God is greater than any of our opposition to obeying God’s word inside our bodies or outside of it.
Young people this lesson is to point us toward the one and only one who is able to do what seems impossible.
God specializes in things impossible; He can do what no other power can do.
Eph. 3:20 informs us, how God is in us to helps us to live the best life in Christ through obeying His word.
Obedience activates God’s power to enable us to live the best life.
Age is not a hinderance to living the best life in Christ, when you know the source.
Paul prayed for the Ephesians to live the best life in Christ through:
If God be for us who can be against us?
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us!
The source for living the best life in Christ is Christ Himself!
Young people God gave you energy to praise and worship Him!
Young people God gave you the ability to serve him!
Young people God gave you Himself with power to live the best life in Christ!
David lived the best life in Christ, He dance before the LORD, David celebrated the presence of God, the bible calls that worship.
Anyone comes to celebrate Jesus?

That Christ may dwell in your heart by faith being rooted and grounded in love!
To comprehend with all saints the width, length, depth and height and to know the love of Christ!

- God is able to enable us to live the best life in Christ- vs. 20
“Now unto Him that is able”
- There are some things that only God can do.
- Human ability is limited.
- Jesus said the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Divine intervention for human inability to live the best life in Christ.
- Jesus said without me you can do nothing!
Romans 11:36, “For of him and through him and to him are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen."
- Everything is from Him.
- Everything is through Him.
- Everything is for Him.
- God will do what we think is undoable- vs. 20c
“Is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.”
- I have heard it said, “I can’t love everyone, I can get along with everyone" and those who have not said it is thinking it.
- Divine action exceeds earthly expectation.
- God asked the question after Sarah, Abraham wife laugh at the promise of these two old people having a son. “Is there anything too hard for God?”
- Young people and older people, you may be saying I can’tobey God’s command to study his word in Bible class and Sunday school.
- Discipleship is how God enables us to do what we think we can’t do!
- The power to obey God’s word is in us- vs. 20c
“According to the power that worketh in us”
- Divine intervention to live the best life in Christ is inside work by God almighty.
- The power that is in us is the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit desires to work in us for us.
- The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us.
- Power that cannot fail.
- Power that cannot be defeated by the flesh, world or Satan.
- How does the Holy Spirit work in our lives?
- He works in his word.
- He works through His word.
If God be for us who can be against us?
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us!
The source for living the best life in Christ is Christ Himself!
- The Holy Spirit through the word of God transforms our character.
- The Holy Spirit through the word of God reveals spiritual truth.
- The Holy Spirit through the word of God empowers us for ministry.
- The recipient of this power is to worship God in the church- vs. 21
“Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages world without end. Amen.”
- The proper and only response is to worship the God of heaven.
- The proper place to worship God is in his church, Sunday morning is worship time
- Psalm 100:4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and unto his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.”
Young people God gave you energy to praise and worship Him!
