Obeying God’s word sometimes is disobeying others
Daniel 3:1-25
There are some things that you can do both at the same time.
But we cannot obey God’s word and obey other people at the same time.
The word of God doesn’t coincide with the ways of this world.
We cannot please God and please people at the same time.
There are many voices in the world today, and they are saying words that are going to benefit themselves.
There are three entities that we must disobey to obey God.
Well, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego had a dilemma, whether to obey God or Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon.
There were blessings and consequences to whatever their decision may be.
Nebuchadnezzar had given them positions in his administration with good paying jobs and a nice home to live in.
The consequence of disobeying the King is a fiery furnace.
On the other hand, they are children of the most High God, who wakes them up every morning, feed and clothe them, and is blessing them in a strange land and has the promise heaven.
The consequence of disobeying God is being cursed, which is God letting you live life without Him and His blessing.
Well, how does the believer obey God’s word in a world where there are so many other things and people we may be tempted to obey.
There is help in this text for all of us to obey God’s word and accept the consequence of following God and not anyone or anything else.
But we cannot obey God’s word and obey other people at the same time.

- Satan (Rev. 12:10).
- Our flesh (Rom. 7:18).
