SERIES PART 4

A Spiritually Healthy Church where Christ is seen and heard

 Matt. 28:19b; 133:1-3

Our vision, a spiritually healthy church where Christ is seen and heard, is where we are going.

Theme for 2026: “Living the best life in Christ through obeying God’s word.”

Being spiritually mature is living the best life in Christ through obeying God’s word

Living the best life in Christ is built on healthy relationships.

Healthy relationships are referred to in Scripture as fellowship.

Fellowship is the Greek word koinonia in first John 1:9, sharing life with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our relationship with God and people must be healthy in order to become a spiritually healthy church where Christ is seen and heard.

Loving God and loving people is the recipe for living the best life in Christ.

Therefore, if we are going to be spiritually healthy to live the best life in Christ, we’ve got to work on building healthy relationships within the body of Christ.

The bible calls a healthy relationship, fellowship!

Therefore, we are going to obey the great commandment and the great commission because it is going to make us a spiritually healthy church where Christ is seen and heard.

The result of obeying is living the best life in Christ!

The Great Commandment
Matthew 22:37-40, “Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. 38, “This is the first and great commandment. 39, And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40, “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Two principles of growth to enable us to become a spiritually healthy church where Christ is seen and heard.
  1. Worship 2. Ministry
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:19-20, Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; 20, “ Teaching them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Three principles of growth to enable us to become a spiritually healthy church where Christ is seen and heard.
  1. Evangelism 2. Fellowship 3. Discipleship

It is imperative and of the utmost importance that every member, including our children, understands where we are going and how we are going to get there.

  1. Obey God’s commandment to fellowship- vs. 20b

“Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.”

Baptize is baptizo in the Greek meaning to immerse

Spiritually and practically, when a person is water baptized, they share in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Vertical and Horizonal relationships are necessary for real fellowship.
