Focusing on Inward Ministry

Rom. 15:1-7

Focusing on Christ to become more like Christ leads us to inward ministry or results in inward ministry

To be focused on Christ is to be focused on the needs of people

To be focused on Christ is to be focused on ministry

Ministry is one of our principles of spiritual growth

Ministry is three directional:
  • Ministry to God is upward ministry
  • Ministry to believer is inward ministry
  • Ministry to nonbeliever is outward ministry

All three are important and is a huge factor in us becoming spiritually stronger

Our focus today is on inward ministry within the body of Christ

God made us to be dependent upon each other to be the people He has called us to be and to do

When fellowship is genuine and real then inward ministry is the result

Paul tells the church at Rome that the spiritually stronger Christian is morally obligated to bear the burden of the Christians whose load is unbearable

Satan has lied to us we are responsible for one another

It is not our job to be judge and jury but our task is to love and provide ministry to our brothers and sisters
Rom. 15:1, “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves”

I.     Focusing on our obligation to inward ministry- vs. 1-2
II.    Focusing on Christ’s examples of ministry- vs. 3-4
III.   Christ’s example is our motivation for inward ministry-v. 5
IV.    Focusing on glorifying Christ with your life- vs. 6-7

If our theme for 2022 focusing on Christ to become more like Christ is to be reality, we must engage in inward ministry

Inward ministry is simply doing for one another like Christ does for us

God has been good to us therefore, let us be good to one another

God helps us with our struggles therefore, let us help our brothers and sisters who needs help

Listen all of us need help with one thing or another
