God’s Plan for Young People
Mark 10:13-16
God has a place, a plan and a purpose for young people and those who are of age
The value and worth of young people are clearly seen in this passage of scripture as well as in other places
Traditionally young people were not included or involved in Jewish temple service; they had to be 30 years old to serve
But Jesus breaks the tradition by proclaiming every age group is to be included and involved in the work of the church
Every season of our life is valuable to the Lord
God plan is to use babies, children, teenagers, young adults, middle age and seniors to serve him in this present age
Notice in this texts Jesus is busy doing ministry but he is not too busy for children
There is an abundant value in young people and their inclusiveness involvement is greatly needed
Jesus advocates this very fact in his response to his disciples and the children
God’s plan and purpose for young people
I. God’s plan is to saved them from sin- vs. 14
II. God’s plan is to grow them in discipleship vs. 14
III. God’s plan is to use them in ministry- vs. 16
A perfect plan designed by a perfect savior for all imperfect people
Now we must know the plan and participate for the plan to work flawless
Verse 13 - two things grabs my attention
1. The responsibility of the parent
2. The response of the church
Verse 14 - The savior’s disappointment in the disciples
- He saw what they did
- He was displeased at what they did
- He corrects their dangerous and reckless view of who is to be included and involved in the work
Suffer the little children to come unto me
Well, he says what he says because he has a place, a plan, and a purpose for everyone life
Many children and young people are wandering through life like a sheep without a shepherd because they don’t know
- Where their place is
- What their plan is
- What their purpose is
I. God’s plan is to save them from sin- vs. 14
“But when Jesus saw it he was much displeased and said unto them suffer the little children to com unto and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God”
- Jesus number one priority is saving souls
- For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10)
- Love brought Jesus from heaven to earth to save souls
- For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)
- Jesus offers salvation to whosoever will
- They were to come and receive salvation
- But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)
II. God’s plan is to grow them into discipleship- vs.14
“And forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God”
- God’s growing plan of discipleship is through his word
- As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby (I Peter 2:2)
- Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word (Psalm 119:9)
- Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15)

Young people God has a place for you in His church
God purpose for you is to be a disciple of Jesus Christ
God says you all are the kingdom of God
- Not the kingdom of this world
- Not the kingdom of this culture
- Not like young thug
- Not like Lil baby
- Not like young Boy
- Not like Dababy
III. God’s plan is to use them in ministry- vs. 16
“And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them and blessed them”
Blessed contextually: God consecrated them to divine use
- Ministry of worship- and Jesus said unto them, yea; have you not heard out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise? (Matt 21:16)
- Ministry of ministering- And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. (I Sam. 3:1)
- Ministry of evangelism- But the Lord said unto me say not, I am child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt say. (Jeremiah 1:7)
- Ministry of fellowship- But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: (Daniel 1:8)
- Ministry of discipleship- And the child (Jesus) grew and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. (Luke 2:40)
God has a place, God has a plan and God has a purpose for your lives
The world has a plan
Satan has a plan
And you have a plan
But God’s plan is better than all those plans put together

Now is the time to serve Him with your whole life
Jesus says, come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burdens are light
I heard the voice of Jesus say come unto me and rest lay down thou weary one lay down thy head upon my breast I came to Jesus as I was weary and worn and sad I found in him a resting place and he has made me glad
Anybody here glad about Jesus
Nobody nowhere love you like the Lord does
He loves us so much that he took your place and my place
It was me and you who deserved to die
There was a high level meeting in heaven way back in eternity God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Ghost
If you make man he will sin Jesus said prepare me a body and I’ll go down and redeem man
