Dripping in Christ
I Tim. 4:12
Young people have a style of their own, there are things that are important to a teenager that make them feel good about themselves.
One of those things is clothing, drip is a slang word for dressing well
The Bible teaches we are to be clothed in Christ (Rom. 13:14) or put on Christ which is to be like Christ.
My proposition to our young people is dripping is fine but let your drip be in Christ.
It’s all right to look good on the outside but let us also look good on the inside, which is to demonstrate the character of Christ.
Your dripping in Christ can draw others to drip in Christ
God wants to use you now in this life to bring others to Christ through being like Christ yourselves.
It doesn’t matter whether you are 8 years old or 18th years old, God has planned you into his plan of becoming like Christ to bring other young people to Christ.
Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 19:14).
Paul writes to a young person, who is dripping in Christ, character wise, and says let no man despise your drip!
We may have different likes and dislikes, but God’s will is the same for us all, that is to become like Christ in this life, whatever age you may be.
The message from God is that you can drip but let your dripping reflect the character of Christ
God’s will is to use your whole life to lead others your age into Christlikeness
If outward dripping gives you confidence, then inward dripping in Christ increases that confidence
Dripping in Christ from a Bible Perspective
I know that all people want to look good and feel good, but can’t nobody make you look better and feel better than when you are clothed in Christ.
Young people go ahead and dress like young people outwardly but make sure you are dressed inwardly with Christ
God has a perfect plan and a perfect will for our lives, and it all starts with knowing Jesus for salvation
Jesus says, “The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

- Knowing your drip is valuable at your young age- vs. 12a
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers”
- Our confidence for life and living comes from our relationship with Christ.
- Knowing Jesus and being known of Jesus helps us to handle negativity from others.
- Knowing that being saved for 20 years does not make you more saved than a person being saved for one year
- Age is not a prerequisite for ministering in the Lord’s church.
- Young people need young people to minister to them.
- Young people who are saved have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit just as those who are older.
- Let your drip be an example to follow- vs. 2b
“But be thou an example of the believer?"
- Let your stylish drip show them the Christ in you.
- Showing them Christ in you will draw them to Christ to become like Christ
- Show them you can be young, lit and dripping in Christ.
- Regardless of whatever your age is, it is not a disadvantage but an advantage.
- The advantage is that you can meet them where they are with Christ living in you
- Being an example to the believers and unbeliever is to show people what being like Christ looks like.
- In the classroom be an example of what being like Christ looks like.
- In the athletic area be an example of what being like Christ looks like.
- In the social area be an example of what being like Christ looks like.
- Show them you can be saved and young enjoying the best life in Christ by becoming like Christ
- Dripping in Christ is outwardly being like Christ- vs.12c.
“An example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity."
- Your drip being an example in word is your speech, not cussing, vulgar words that come from some rapper’s mouth.
- Your drip being an example in conversation is your lifestyle living for Christ like Christ.
- Your drip being an example in charity is loving people like Jesus loves people unconditionally.
- Your drip being an example in spirit is a humble and forgiving spirit.
- Your drip being an example in faith is living life trusting God in everything and through everything.
- Your drip being an example in purity is not defiling yourself with the immorality of this world
